New Year, New Work

I know that there is nothing better

for people than to be happy and

to do good while they live.

That each of them may eat and drink,

and find satisfaction in all their toil -

this is the gift of God.

Now all has been heard;

here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments,

for this is the duty of all mankind.

Ecclesiates 3:12,13: 12:13  

       ♪, Scriptures to mutter daily

               with thanksgiving and love

Today is the first day of the New Year.

From today we call it hopeful New Year

for a month or so.

However this New Year greeting sounds to be

slowly disappearing.

It seems to be due to the hard times of

the nations and world; wars and starvation,

earthquake and terror,

social and political anxieties,

and personal, familial, work place

difficulties etc.

Thus I read the thoughts about new things

who had no such a hardship but had

everything that one desires 

to achieve in life.

It is laughful.

He had 1 thousands wives: 

How could he remember all their names?

And he said he did everything that

his 5 senses desire.

It could have been possible since

he had all the wisdom and power.

He is the well known king, Solomon.

Nevertheless the king of wisdom says

there are no new things under the Sun.

He says all we call new things

have been existed always;

they only repeat.

He says constant renewing things like

life are;

1. to be happy doing good while they live

2. to eat and drink finding satisfaction

in all their toil.

And he concludes after long thesis:

Fear God and keep his commandments,

for this is the duty of all mankind.

This is the Ecclesiastes in 

the Old Testament.

His commandments are to love God and his

creature myself, yourself and nature.

Love is one's desire of to be good of

loving objects,

therefore doing one's best to achieve it.

Best is different according to one's

spiritual growth and situation.

Difference is alright;

when one grows and situation gets better

one can do more.

As long as it is loving motive

God and myself are pleased and

his commandments are fulfilled.

This is New Being and New Work;

It is constantly renewed for the New Year.

God bless New people doing New work.
